Gordon v Farrar (1847)

The Michigan Supreme Court denied Gordon, who was one-fourth African, the right to vote by overturning a circuit court decision that awarded him limited damages. Neither court determined what percentage of African blood disqualified him and allowed local elections inspectors to decide upon a person’s race.
